The mouse is an integral part of your PC's operation. Insuring that your mouse is running in top shape will keep you from encountering problems with dragging & dropping or a sticky pointer.
Cleaning the mouse on a regular basis is pretty easy. On the bottom of the mouse there is a turn ring. If you turn the ring and unlock it, you can pop out the ball and look inside. Inside you'll see three rollers. It is on these rollers where dust and grim tends to accumulate. You can use tweezers to gently scrape the rollers and lift the Buildup out.
You can also use a little denatured alcohol and a cotton swabs found at any drug store, but I prefer the tweezer method. The mouse ball generally will not attract such buildup. Try to clean your mouse every couple of months or whenever you notice the pointer arrow getting sluggish.
