The Wireless Digital Music Player was awarded the designation in a roundup of Wi-Fi digital audio receivers in the October 2004 issue.
The NETGEAR Wireless Digital Music Player was awarded the Digital World Choice designation in a product roundup that rated wireless digital music players from four manufacturers in a variety of performance categories. The NETGEAR Wireless Digital Music Player received a "good" rating in sound quality, "very good" ratings in ease-of-use and display, and a rating of "easy" for setup.
"I had the inexpensive NETGEAR unit running in the time it took to install the software, hook it up, and enter my WEP key," explained the product review. "Though you can't enlarge the text, the bright display is easily legible from a few feet away."
